Description We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the Manufacturing industry, located in Austin, Texas. In this role, you will be expected to ensure the smooth running of all payroll procedures, maintain staff confidence by keeping payroll information confidential, and contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Responsibilities: Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll, adhering to standard accounting principles and labor regulations Manage voluntary deductions in conjunction with involuntary court-ordered payments such as wage garnishments and pay levies, ensuring prompt reporting to relevant authorities Provide support to staff regarding pay-related queries, including but not limited to payroll, wage deductions, PTO accruals, and fringe benefits Review data entered into the payroll software by others, ensuring accuracy in details such as wage increases, benefit deductions, leaves of absence, and termination dates Carry out regular payroll reporting as required and provide assistance during financial audits pertaining to pay records and the associated general ledger Stay up-to-date with current payroll tax requirements and laws related to employee wage data processing, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and other necessary reporting Prepare and administer quarterly and year-end payroll reports Advise management on pay practices related to FLSA, fringe benefit reporting, and other payroll areas Enhance systems and protocols for the collection, calculation, and entry of pay data Use your skills in Ceridian, Ceridian Payroll System, Benefits Payroll, bi-Monthly Payroll, Full Cycle Payroll, Multi-state Payroll, Special Payroll Deductions, and Approved Timesheets to effectively complete your responsibilities.Requirements Proficiency with Ceridian and Ceridian Payroll System Skilled in Benefits Payroll Experience with bi-Monthly Payroll Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll Ability to handle Multi-state Payroll Understanding of Special Payroll Deductions Ability to process Approved Timesheets Background in the manufacturing industry Excellent communication and organizational skills Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mind Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
