A great successful customer of The HT Group is seeking a Sr. Principal Java Engineer for A direct hire position in Austin, Texas. This is 100% remote position but you must work from Pacific, Mountain or Central time zones. You will design and develop and deploy software solutions that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning technologies. In this full-time position, you'll be working with product managers, engineers, data scientists, solution architects, and designers to define requirements, implement solutions, and test system efficiency and functionality. The successful candidate should be able to work efficiently and effectively throughout the entire SDLC and engage with customers to ensure the solution meets defined goals. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with complex solutions that leverage AI and Machine Learning to make an immediate impact in the Financial Services industry. Responsibilities:

  • Work with Customers, Product Managers and Engineers to gather requirements and develop new features
  • Drive the product independently from inception to deployment with a strong focus on performance, security, quality and scalability
  • Collaborate with UI Engineers to integrate user facing elements with the backend
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle
  • Identify and troubleshoot backend issues
  • Able to learn and apply new technologies quickly
  • Provide support for production
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors/Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of software development experience or related professional experience
  • Experience designing and developing large scale distributed systems
  • Experience developing secure applications
  • Proficient in core Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate/ORM, JDBC, REST)
  • Experience with microservice design and development
  • Experience working with Elasticsearch
  • Experience with relational databases like Oracle DB
  • Graph database experience is a big plus
  • Working knowledge of ReactJS and or Angular
  • Strong communication skills are required
  • Comfortable working with customers for requirement optimization and validation
