Position Summary: The Product Manager owns the comprehensive product management strategy for a given product line. They take overall responsibility for the success of the product line in growth, market share, sales revenue, and margin contribution. The Product Manager directs those involved in the design, modification, and evaluation of all phases of a specific product or group of products from product definition through production and release (i.e., Product Lifecycle Management). They will ensure the products shipped meet specification, cost, and quality goals. The Product Manager maintains a view of the overall market and technologies adopted by users and competitors. They will continuously promote use of new technologies and industry-leading trends to product management activities. What you will be doing:- PLM of Microwave Routing Products will be responsible for the entire Microwave Routing Product Line including:
- Financial Metrics (Product Line P&L)
- Portfolio Strategy
- Pricing
- Strategy for growth
- The Product Manager functions as the central resource with Marketing, Engineering, Operations (NPI, Manufacturing & Quality) and Finance as the product(s) move from conception, design, development, release, and supply through to end-of-life.
- They take a leadership role in product and technology definition for the product line.
- A minimum of 5 years of Industry related experience. Experienced in driving product to financial success by pushing Sales and launch initiatives for growth.
- Strong experience owning/managing P&L for a product line.
- Strong understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO) in assessing long-term value.
- Strong experience improving customer engagement using voice of the customer (VOC) methodology.
- Strong experience in product launch and market introduction including pricing, segmentation, and strategy for growth.
- Understanding of telecommunications market and various market segments (public telephony, mobile service providers, ISP/WISP, private networks, public safety)
- Understanding of IP networking technologies such as routing, MPLS, QoS, VLANs, Traffic Engineering, Carrier Ethernet, Pseudo-wires (PWE3), IEEE 1588v2, and Synchronous Ethernet
- Understanding of microwave radio technology and industry
- Good Accounting/Financial Skills
- A genuine desire to drive product success and implement the goals of Aviat Networks.
