JOB SUMMARY: Production Technician
The Production Technician is responsible for the efficient disassembly, repair, and assembly of the RTCH and other IRTC manufactured equipment. This role ensures that equipment is built or refurbished to the highest standards of quality and safety while meeting production deadlines. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience working with large industrial or heavy-duty equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Disassembly & Assembly:
o Disassemble heavy equipment and components according to work instructions and engineering drawings.
o Perform precise disassembly and reassembly of equipment and sub-components to meet specifications.
Repairs & Troubleshooting:
o Inspect mechanical and electrical components for defects or wear.
o Diagnose mechanical issues and carry out necessary repairs or replacements.
o Utilize specialized tools and technology to ensure proper function of all components.
Quality & Documentation:
o Ensure all work meets quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
o Complete production and repair documentation accurately in prescribed formats.
o Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify and resolve build issues.
Safety & Compliance:
o Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for handling heavy machinery.
o Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
o Operate hoists, cranes, forklifts, and other lifting devices safely as required.
Continuous Improvement:
o Participate in team meetings and provide feedback to improve processes.
o Support lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training is a plus.
Strong mechanical background with ability to read and interpret manufacturer work instructions, engineering drawings, and manuals.
Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
Experience working with forklifts, cranes, or overhead lifting equipment is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment
Primarily in a manufacturing shop environment.
Exposure to loud noises, chemicals, heavy machinery, and occasional outdoor conditions.
Physical Requirements
Manual and physical strength
Ability to lift and carry heavy components and tools, up to 50 lbs unassisted.
Standing and movement
Must be able to stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
Hand dexterity
Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, assembling, and operating tools and equipment.
Working in varied positions
Ability to work in awkward or confined spaces, including lying, crawling, or crouching to access equipment.
Vision requirements
Close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to distinguish colors for inspecting components and reading detailed specifications.
Exposure tolerance
Comfortable working in loud, hot, cold, or dusty manufacturing environments while using personal protective equipment (PPE).
Equipment operation
Ability to safely operate heavy machinery and tools such as forklifts, cranes, hoists, drills, and torque equipment.
Safety compliance
Must adhere to all safety rules and best practices, including proper lifting techniques and use of PPE.
