Production/Sheetmetal Shop Foreman

Production/Sheetmetal Shop Foreman needed for a Manufacturing Company involved in the precision sheet metal fabrication and machining industry. This person will be involved with implementing the coordination and control of manufacturing processes. The Foreman answers directly to the Production Manager to ensure that goods and services are produced efficiently. They will ensure the correct amount is produced at the right cost and at the right level of quality.

Responsibilities include:

-following the Production Schedule provided by Production Manager.

-ensuring that the production is cost effective.

-making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.

-working out the human and material resources needed.

-maintaining the timescale for the job.

-enforcing the quality standards.

-monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.

-assisting for the selection and maintenance of equipment.

-monitoring product standards and following quality-control programs.

-liaising among different departments.

-working with managers to implement the company’s policies and goals.

-ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed.

-supervising and motivating a team of workers.

-identifying training needs

-Knowledge REQUIRED of sheet metal fab., CNC machines, punch, laser and brake

-knowledge of painting and powder coat a plus

This position is required to be involved in the production (control and supervision) stage. A large portion of this job involves continuous presence on the production floor and dealing with people in the manufacturing departments.
