Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.SUMMARYManages projects and activities associated with the Division of Nursing inpatient clinical and non-clinical areas. Assist in preparing, justifying, and administering annual operating and capital budgets. Identifies and implements opportunities for cost reduction and expense control. Responsible for managing the division's bed fleet and processes pertaining to bed maintenance & repairs, storage, and movement while collaborating with the division's clinical partners like Clinical Engineering, Materials Management, Hill-Rom/Baxter, EVS (Housekeeping), and Nursing leadership. This employee would also be responsible for managing the division's capital assets and completing the annual inventory scanning and validation of all the divisions equipment like beds, monitors, IV poles and other scanners. Minor equipment needs for the Division of Nursing will also be managed by them. Responsible for the Division of Nursing's Emergency preparedness, planning, and management process and implementation.JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIESAdministrative Duties Manages divisional processes for supplies and equipment orders. Reviews and approves all equipment and supplies requisitions and purchase order requests through PeopleSoft Coordinates and leads Administrative Coordinator team staff meetings Manages day to day operations of supplies, equipment, ordering, contract administration, vendor relations, and meeting planning/coordination. Responsible for business activities and functions in the absence of Division of Nursing Administrative Director. Participates in strategic planning in collaboration with Administrative Director & Executive Director to work with IT services to resolve computer hardware and software problems. Works with Division and eLearning team to develop DoN newsletter(s) & manage DoN website. Coordinates recruitment, reviews resumes, selects candidates for interviews, and participates on interview panel for hiring administrative coordinators. Serves as Division of Nursing's Property Officer-Responsible for/oversees all facets of asset management, including assigning and working with inpatient property controllers, organizing/managing MDACC's annual inventory process and all related initiatives-Collaborates with Asset Management/Control to assure that assets are properly tagged and placed in correct org codes Responsible for revising and maintaining emergency preparedness plan and environmental and safety manual for division and coordinating with the inpatient units to ensure completion. Coordinates with other emergency preparedness officers, communication, monitoring and implementation of departmental and local emergency plan(s). Performs project analysis and evaluates outcomes and obstacles through project completion. Effectively and consistently communicates project status to all involved parties through project completion.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducationRequired: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.Preferred: Master's degree.ExperienceRequired: Three years project/program coordination experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
