Program Manager

Role: Program Manager Location: Houston Texas (Onsite from Day 1) Duration: 6+ Months Job Description Skills Required -

• Program Managers may manage either a suite of interdependent projects that together contribute to longer-term business strategy or multiple project managers who each lead part of a portfolio or program.
• Project Managers plan, control and execute a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value.
• Leads small programs of moderate-to-high complexity and risk.
• Typical program size: 10-20 FTE OR a Project Manager leading medium-to-large projects of moderate-to-high complexity and risk.
• Typical project size: 10-20 FTE. Strong stakeholder management required, involving coaching and partnering with business stakeholders to validate the programmer's strategic business case, define success metrics and criteria, and to identify, measure, and sustain planned vs. achieved benefit.
• Project Managers plan, execute, and control a project or set of related projects adhering to the Shell Project Delivery Framework (PDF) methodology and other standards at a scale of up to $5M, and with up to 20 team members, with the objective to meet identified business requirements and deliver business value, through acquiring and utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, risk, quality and benefits.
• This requires: Program and project delivery skills in both agile and waterfall methodologies including effective Change Control, Risk Management and Reporting, setting up and executing Project Governance, and managing Program Leadership and the wider Project Natural team; Domain knowledge and skills, such as Chemicals, Deepwater, Retail, Finance, Legal, HR, and Capital Project lines of business and functions
• Technology skills, such as cloud, mobile, software-as-a-service, digital platforms, ERP, web-based application, networking, workplace productivity, compliance or cybersecurity; Professional skills, such as leadership (by building and leveraging relationships with senior sponsors, the Program Manager, and key stakeholders in particular those in the governance of the project), communication and resilience (both of oneself, and by motivating, leading and supporting the project or work stream team through periods of uncertainty, while managing pressure so that they can delivery successfully).

• PM certification.
• Waterfall & Agile, Cloud, mobile, SAS, digital. Vendor Management, Governance, Project management, Scoping & budgeting, planning & Tracking, assurance & compliance, Risk Assessment & Management, Stakeholder Management, Financial skills, Presentation skills, Domain knowledge. Optional skills:
• Degree. 10+ years in IT with 5+ years delivering progressively larger and more complex projects up to $5m, teams up to 20. Communication and resilience.
