This position will assist in a multi-school training grant for doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and summer undergraduate trainees focused on cancer prevention. In this position, you will plan and execute timelines and tasks for recruitment, selection, appointment, and support of pre and post-doctoral fellows and summer undergraduates, in addition to working closely with program directors and mentors. Position Summary:Manages the day-to-day administrative activities for the UTHealth Houston-CPRIT (Cancer Prevention Research Institute of Texas) Innovation in Cancer Prevention Research Training Program. This Program is a partnership across UTHealth-Houston Schools, with co-directors at the School of Public Health, School of Biomedical Informatics, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. The Program is administered through the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research at the Public Health School.Position Key Accountabilities:

Provides day-to-day program management and coordination for the Training Grant, including pre- and postdoctoral fellows, summer undergraduates, mentors, faculty directors, facilities, travel, and supplies.

Collects data from the pre- and postdoctoral fellows for annual progress reports and grants and works closely with the Program Director and UTHealth Houston grants administration, the UTHealth Office of Sponsored Projects and CPRIT in completing all required reporting on time.

Assists with budget preparation in compliance with UTHealth and CPRIT requirements, monitors expenditures and balances, and initiates re-budgeting requests and payments based on Grant and UTHealth Houston administrative procedures.

Processes travel, supplies, payments for tuition and fees, equipment purchases and transfers and other administrative matters based on Grant and UTHealth-Houston administrative procedures.

Manages new appointments and exiting processes of all pre- and postdoc fellows, including summer undergraduates, following Grant and UTHealth Houston protocols.

Maintains the websites, drafts and distributes advertisements for new fellows and summer undergraduates, monitors the Training Grant e-mail addresses, and manages applications and the selection and appointment processes for pre-and postdoctoral fellows and summer undergraduates.

Coordinates meetings of Training Grant Directors, Program Investigators, fellows’ presentations to the Executive Committee, the spring and fall seminars for pre- and post-doc fellows, and the summer undergraduate program.

Writes and updates protocols for Program tasks and assures they are consistent with relevant Grant and UTHealth Houston policies.

Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Certification/Skills:

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

Working knowledge of MS Office.

Working knowledge of Canva, Qualtrics; experience with training grants and/or students from diverse backgrounds in higher education.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Five (5) years of applicable experience.

Previous experience with project coordination is preferred.

Previous experience working in higher education settings is preferred.
