The Individual Giving team is dedicated to securing philanthropic gifts in support of The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's initiatives across all segments of individual donors supporting the institution. An integral part of the Individual Giving Team business model is planning and implementing investigation, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for all constituents and stakeholders (new and established) for the purpose of executing on those strategies with precision and excellence thereby securing philanthropic gifts.MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Program Manager to provide highly organized, coordinated and collaborative programmatic support and project execution for the fundraising operations of the Individual Giving Team and in partnership with the Associate Vice President, Individual Giving. The position provides a fascinating window into the inner workings of a deeply engaged, portfolio- based fundraising operation that is focused on maximizing lifetime donor engagement for the benefit of MD Anderson. In addition, this position drives the management of the AVP, Individual Giving's portfolio of principal gift prospects and leads, ensuring assignments are engaged at each step of the donor investigation, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship cycle.The Program Manager provides executive-level support to the Associate Vice President, Individual Giving that includes portfolio management and donor engagement support, scheduling and calendar management, communication with internal and external stakeholders, timely fundraising moves management data entry, tracking progress towards fundraising metrics, travel planning and expense management. The Program Manager plays a pivotal role by not only ensuring seamless executive-level support to the Associate Vice President, Individual Giving, but also by actively facilitating meaningful connections with executive team members, c-suite executives, and transformative donors.The Program Manager will also partner closely with the Director, Philanthropy (Individual Giving) and the Division's service line members to ensure all correspondence, proposal and stewardship actions are planned for, executed and delivered with the highest quality and attention to detail, precision and strategic impact. In addition, the Program Manager oversees the administrative functions for the Individual Giving team within Philanthropy in close collaboration with the Director, Philanthropy (Individual Giving). This position facilitates efficient team operation and ongoing management of various projects related to fundraising and engagement of the institution's philanthropic donors.KEY FUNCTIONSLeadership & Project Direction (50%) This position serves as a project manager for various team, administrative and portfolio initiatives for the Office of the AVP, Individual Giving. The Program Manager will be called upon to support and complete projects that improve the performance and operational efficiencies of the AVP, Individual Giving. Projects may vary in size, scope and required deliverables. · Knowledge of divisional goals and how they relate to the institution's strategic plan · Ability to recognize gaps, alert key stakeholders and collaborate to create solutions · Ability to explain concepts and ideas to various divisional staff levels · Possesses basic project management skills · Ability to see a project to fruition · Can acknowledge setbacks and can redirect course · Accepting and responsive of feedback · Has a passion for continual improvement and approaches work with a growth mindset Fundraising Business Support (25%) The Program Manager supports donor relationship development activities, tracking and delivery of strategy. The successful candidate possesses knowledge of fundraising operations, donor stages and life cycle, moves management and engagement activities. This position requires the ability to anticipate next steps and prepare accordingly, ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and proactively approach one's work. Organizational, time management and event coordination skills are critical to the role as well as detailed focus with proficient writing and prooing skills. The Program Manager must have the ability to prioritize the care of donors and knowledge of when and how to request and coordinate services from internal partners for report generation, donor prospect research, donor prospect management and donor communications. Executive Support (25%) The Program Manager provides executive-level support to the Associate Vice President, Individual Giving that includes portfolio management and donor engagement support, scheduling and calendar management, communication with internal and external stakeholders, timely fundraising moves management data entry, tracking progress towards fundraising metrics, travel planning and expense management.Coordinates meetings for the Associate Vice President, Individual Giving and related team engagements, as requested, including polling parties for availability, sending out invitations with internal and external participants, securing format or location, following departmental and institutional approval processes, ordering catering, developing presentation(s) to be shown, etc. Possesses a professional demeanor and courteous attitude required for frequent interactions with divisional leadership. Acts as a liaison, transmitting directives, instructions and assignments between the Individual Giving team and support services teams. Responds promptly to requests in a professional manner and possesses the ability to solve problems that may arise within daily activities; utilizing strong communication, organization and multi-tasking skills. Communicates within and among team members.EDUCATIONRequired: Bachelor's degree.Preferred: Master's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism or related field.EXPERIENCERequired: Five years related experience to include three years program management experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
