Description Overview: The Project Controller will play a pivotal role in a multi-billion dollar construction project in NYC, working directly with the project team to oversee all financial functions necessary for the profitable completion of the assigned project(s). This role includes direct responsibility for all Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and compliance management processes. Additionally, the Project Controller is responsible for developing and improving systems and processes related to financial reporting, budget tracking, and variance analysis. This position will report directly to the VP of Accounting or their designee and ensure the integration of financial accounting and treasury management practices as necessary.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish and oversee project accounting processes, including accounts payable and receivable, and ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.

Collaborate with project leadership to monitor and manage change orders and subcontractor charges effectively.

Ensure adherence to the company’s financial guidelines and procedures, particularly regarding revenue recognition and payable processes.

Maintain and organize project documentation.

Ensure the integrity and accuracy of operational data.

Coordinate with the Financial Controller to implement internal control systems and uphold robust financial reporting policies.

Conduct monthly reviews of financial data to verify completeness and accuracy.

Prepare and present monthly billing statements to project owners.

Develop and regularly update cash flow forecasts for projects.

Manage project-related overhead costs, such as office supplies and consumables.

Evaluate and predict project profitability, revenue, budgets, and margins.

Follow up on outstanding client invoices as needed.

Travel frequently to project sites.

Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements Proficiency in performing all Accounting Functions

Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of Auditing procedures and practices Familiarity with Budget Processes and Forecasting Experience with Project Accounting and WIP - Work In Progress Understanding of Cost Accounting principles and practices Proficiency in using CMiC software for accounting purposes Ability to adhere to all company guidelines and procedures Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and interactions with other departments Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to meet deadlines and manage tasks efficiently Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and analytical skills Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
