Come join us and help shape the future!WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time, Project Controls Manager for our Austin, Texas office.Your ImpactDuties and Responsibilities:
Create, implement and execute project controls plans and project management plans to support contract requirements and the successful execution of project controls supporting project and WSP commercial interests.
Serve as the focal point for all matters relating to the estimating, planning/scheduling, cost control, document control, change management and scope/change control for allocated projects and within the business and provide recommendations to the Project Manager/s.
Resolve issues and provide consistency between the estimating, planning/scheduling, cost control, and scope/change control functions and deliverables.
Develop and forecast staffing plans and cost projections for specific projects.
Interact with project controls, accounting, and scheduling staff from other agencies and firms.
Develop or refine Project Management Plans and Project Financial Plans for submittal to funding agencies consistent with the project's needs and industry best practices.
Develop and prepare project control reports with corrective action plans when required.
Assist in the development of project controls dashboards and reporting methods, including the use of 3D and 4D models.
Develop and maintain a Project Earned Value Management System (EVMS) database, to measure progress and calculate performance metrics, analyze and report variances to plan based on predetermined variance thresholds.
Manage and coordinate work for project controls team, covering scheduling, document control, estimating, risk management and change management.
Who You AreMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline desired, but not required with applicable experience.
12 years’ experience in Project Controls for large infrastructure programs such as light rail.
Experience in establishing project control systems and procedures and developing project reports and documentation.
EVM development, implementation and analysis experience.
Knowledge of and experience in schedule preparation, schedule integration, and schedule critical path forensic analysis.
Knowledge of cost management systems and practices.
High level of experience in scope/change management and claims mitigation and forensic analysis.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerBI, SharePoint).
Experience with ORACLE PRIMAVERA P6 Professional and MS Projects.
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Management, schedule or cost management training or certification through Project Management Institute (PMI) or American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) or other relevant industry organizations.
Experience with Mining and Transportation type projects.
Background knowledge of the civil engineering and construction industry desired.
Knowledge and experienced in developing Project Schedules, Cost and Change management systems and Earned Value Management reports.
Knowledge of project controls software such as Primavera P6, MS Projects, PowerBi Procore and InEight desired.
