Project Manager

Position Description Project Managers plan, control and execute a project or set of related projects to meet identified business needs and deliver business value. As Project Manager, leads small-to-medium projects of moderate complexity. Typical project size: fewer than 10 FTE OR Participates as a member of a project team for larger and more complex projects. Quickly earns the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders. Resolves conflict and delivers tough messages with grace. Continually updates relevant business stakeholders of project status.

This role is based in Houston, Texas.

Your future duties and responsibilities Plan, execute, monitor, control, and close all aspects of the project lifecycle adhering to the Project Delivery Framework (PDF) methodology and other standards at a scale of up to $2M, with up to 20 team members.• Quickly build and leverage relationships with sponsors, the Programme Manager and key stakeholders and understand their priorities.• Resolve conflict and deliver tough messages with grace to the Decision Review Board.• Agree and build an agreed list of deliverables as defined by the Decision Review Board or Programme Manager, keeping to the time, cost and quality parameters set.• Execute the required governance approach.• Motivate and lead the project or workstream team through periods of uncertainty, while understanding and reporting barriers so that the team can complete its objectives while managing pressure.• Create and deliver relevant and impactful communications for project or workstream stakeholders.• Support the project team to remain resilient after setbacks and to recover performance.• Manage and report risks at a project level to make timely recommendations that will maximize value.• Understand changes necessary to balance execution efficiency with risk mitigation, value delivery, cost, quality, and benefits.• Understand programme or project goals and business context at all stages of the lifecycle, particularly when responding to challenges and change. Recommend acceptable courses of action where appropriate.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• 12+ years of IT experience with 6+ years of Project Management experience.• PMP certification preferred.• Must be strong in stakeholder management, risk management, cost management and change management.• Experience planning and leading of Agile projects and educating stakeholders and others involved while managing a project.• Agile certifications/training preferred.• Experience in Agile tooling (ex -VSTS) Preferred.• Demonstrated learning agility in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations.• Experience with and able to adhere to project management methodologies and tools.• Strong communication and presentation skills.• Strong stakeholder management skills - including experience coaching stakeholders.• Experience in leading a distributed team.

Soft Skills & Experience• Show substantial personal drive to get things done.• Strong stakeholder management and requirements elicitation skillsets.• Ability to communicate concisely and clearly• Proficiency in writing user stories, and acceptance criteria.• Experience analyzing the alignment between business requirements and system capabilities• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.• Self-starter who can drive initiatives and is a team player.• Strong interpersonal skills, communication, presentational skills, and stakeholder engagement.• A curiosity to learn and adapt to new ways of working and thinking.
