Job Title: Pump MechanicJob DescriptionJoin our large service and repair pump shop as a Pump Mechanic, where you will be responsible for disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling pumps. You will operate various machine tools, including lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, acetylene torches, and impact wrenches to machine, fabricate, or repair metalwork according to production specifications. Utilize metrology equipment such as mics, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure specification compliance. You will machine parts to repair pumps and rotating equipment based on work orders, blueprints, sketches, or charts, working on a variety of pumps including centrifugal, double suction, end suction, and horizontal split pumps.Hard Skills

5+ years repairing rotating equipment, specifically pumps

Proficiency in operating lathes, drill presses, milling machines, grinders, acetylene torches, impact wrenches, overhead cranes, fork lifts

Ability to read drawings/diagrams to review specs

Skilled in using scales, calipers and other measuring instruments

Experience in inspections and computer work

Soft Skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a tenured team

Adaptability to work extra hours when needed

Willingness to volunteer for weekend work

Job TypeThis is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in STAFFORD, Texas.Work EnvironmentWork in an air-conditioned shop alongside 16 colleagues, including pump mechanics, welders, and manual machinists. The shop operates on a 1st shift schedule from 6:00am to 4:30pm, working four 10-hour shifts per week, with potential extra work on Fridays and sometimes Saturdays, averaging around 50 hours per week. Enjoy a 4-day weekend every other weekend. The team culture emphasizes mutual support but demands high standards and skilled workmanship.
