- 13-14 Month Contract-to-hire, Standard 40 hrs/week

- Must be a Texas resident and can work 100% remote
- Starting range $55+/hr, DOE
- Analyze and understand solution requirements, architecture, technical designs and processes in order to define necessary scope of automated testing.
- Coordinate functional, technical and vendor resources in testing efforts to ensure ERCOT testing process and procedure are followed.
- Develop test strategy, test plan and communicate strategy to relevant disciplines/stakeholders clearly and appropriately
- Develop and modify test scenarios and test scripts
- Perform manual and automated system, regression and functional testing
- Perform day-to-day coordination of testing activities
- Review test scripts to ensure appropriate tests are created and executed correctly to verify requirements
- Manage testing effort and defects though defect lifecycle
- Create testing progress reports, dashboard and test coverage using test management tool QC (ALM)
- Develop and promote quality testing practices
- Ensure that testing is completed to agreed standards and that business and operational acceptance criteria are met
- Liaise with other management and IT disciplines to ensure project testing objectives are met
- Report to management on testing and quality requirements/activities in order to identify any deviations from plan and to carry out any necessary corrective action
- Supports test data requests
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, perform tasks assigned by the supervisor and manager
- Report to management on automated and manual testing and quality requirements/activities, to identify deviations from plan and carry out corrective action.
- Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules or potential problems that may impact the quality of automation regression suite or overall product features.
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by the supervisor/manager from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.
- Oracle RDBMS. This includes competency with PL/SQL and a general familiarity with general concepts such as relational database analysis and design as well as SQL tuning.
- HP Unified Functional Tester (UFT). Experience in running, and modifying VB script tests.
- HP Quality Center (ALM) and JIRA
- Familiarity with TSCA test automation tool
- Experience with general software development life cycle practices.
- Experience with general Software Quality Assurance/Quality Control testing techniques, standards, practices, and related technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field or eight years applicable experience is required.
- Minimum of 5 years (in excess of degree requirements stated above) of progressively responsible experience in Software system and application testing
- 5+ years of experience with software Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) practices. This includes common test design techniques.
- 3+ years of managing and coordinating system and application testing
- Minimum of 5 years with Micro Focus Quality Center (ALM)
- Minimum of 3 years with data validation and ETL process
- Demonstrable experience of creating quality assurance artifacts to include test plans, test scripts and test reporting
- Experience using PL/SQL for data validation
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Superior computer skills including common business applications such as MS Windows and MS Office including Excel, Word and Access
- Familiarity with general concepts surrounding web services and web applications. This includes web technologies such as HTML 5, CSS, and JQuery.
- 3+ years of experience with one of various scripting languages (i.e. JavaScript, Vbscript,Python, etc).
- Experience working with GUI object recognition and customization.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Familiarity with common source control systems and configuration management.
- Familiarity with general concepts surrounding XML and Oracle RDBMS.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
- Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business focused environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Comfortable in both, a UNIX and Windows based environment.
