We have been retained by our client in

Houston, Texas to deliver a

QA / Test Automation Engineer on a long-term, contract or contact-to-hire basis. You will work with Visual Studio, C#, test frameworks, SQL to create software test automation, or extend test automation functionality, including using C# to create new test automation or using existing automation, test frameworks and test harnesses to automate testing of applications, user interfaces (UI s) of web and software applications using .NET, C# and SQL Server on the backend. onsite work in Houston with a significant amount of career growth.

- Reviews both business and technical requirements for software applications to ensure that they are clear, complete and testable.

- Gains expert level knowledge of business processes and supporting applications either developed by or implemented.

- Responsible for test planning for new and existing software applications.

- Covers all types of testing needed to ensure a high-quality application, including but not limited to: feature/functionality, deployment and configuration, performance, integration and usability. Tracks coverage, progress and result of testing in software application lifecycle management tool.

- Develops and supports harnesses enabling rapid, repeatable and reportable test execution.

- Testing software and web applications using regression, integration, smoke, sanity, end-to-end, API and user acceptance testing.

- Automates test scenarios with goals to reduce the time and cost of testing over the lifecycle of the application, and to improve test coverage / depth.

- Tracks quality of application (readiness for release) by working directly with the development team to ensure that issues are found/fixed in an expedited manner. Files and tracks software defects in software application lifecycle management tool.

- Ensures that standards for development and quality are defined and tracked accordingly.

- Monitors software quality issues that are detected after release, triages issues and works with development team to expedite fixes.

Required experience:

Experience extending, building or maintaining a test automation framework.

We prefer experience building or extending automated tests or test frameworks to test software and web applications with .NET using SQL Server.

Solid experience with C# and Visual Studio.

Solid experience with test automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver (desired).

Strong general IT application and networking knowledge, including load balancing, networking, Active Directory, .NET applications, messaging middleware, virtualization technologies such as VMWare vSphere (desired).

Solid SQL Server experience, ability to create complex queries in order to analyze data and verify test results; backup and restore data, model and create or alter data as needed to support testing scenarios.

We prefer experience with Azure DevOps on-prem (desired).

Working knowledge and experience with runtime memory analysis and code profiling tools (desired).

Solid general IT application and networking knowledge, including load balancing, networking, active directory, Visual Studio, .Net, C#, JavaScript or Angular or SQL Server applications.

Excellent communication skills and team collaboration skills, able to convey complex ideas via verbally and in writing face means, to work with developers, DBAs, business analysts to drive quality and ensure that we are efficiently building and releasing software applications.

Strong stance for quality, able to convey details of, impact and exposure of software quality issues to development teams and leaders.

TDD, Test Driven Development, SDET, Software Development Engineer in Test, Test First Development, or Continuous Testing (desired).

Desired Education:

Bachelor s degree from a 4 year accredited university in Computer Science, CIS/MIS, or equivalent experience.
