Essential Job Responsibilities

Conduct research efforts to support range operations related to: Force Development Evaluation (FDE) efforts, aircraft procurement efforts, and major program efforts such as the entire Air Force Network (AFNET) Operations (AFNETOPS) three-tiered architecture and current cyber weapon systems. • Research, develop, evolve, and field capabilities and methodologies to ensure these capabilities and methodologies are integrated with DoD guidance and policy. • Research, develop, document, and maintain methodologies that address the full spectrum of a range event: planning, execution, and reporting. • Provide methodologies that shall include tested tools (both hardware and software based), tactics, techniques and procedures. • Provide research for new major program efforts and range initiatives. • Provide recommendations to the Government team lead to define tool requirements and support the customer with integrating approved tools. • Identify, document and demonstrate the proper usage of all tools developed and modified (including scripts and data base queries). • Provide system administration, documentation, and security services to administer, configure, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot networks to include the operation of isolated networks, networks connected to DoD networks and networks (Concept Local Area Network (CLAN)) connected to commercial ISPs. • Control and document the use of Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. • Coordinate equipment and system usage. • Develop the plan to backup and restore software assets. • Maintain Cyber Test and Training Ranges (CTTR) command and control applications (e.g. Orion, Altiris, and Airman and others, as required). • Build, maintain and restore range baseline as required. • Document range configuration, practices and procedures. • Troubleshoot and apply fix actions, when necessary. • Configure and maintain current and future training environments, including but not limited to: Persistent Cyber Training Environment (PCTE), SimSpace, Simulation Exercise and Training Platform (STEP), Foundry, and other training systems as developed. • Coordinate with outside agencies for current training system changes and future systems. • Coordinate with training developers on training changes and new curriculum. • Maintain existing Range infrastructure and respond to technology changes to keep the CTTR current. • Prepare and deliver a Configuration Management Plan outlining the installation and configuration management practices and procedures to ensure continuity, as required. • Provide scripting support to automate various range activities utilizing scripting languages including but not limited to PERL, Python, Ruby, Transaction Control Language (TCL), Windows PowerShell and Bash or others, as required. • Research recommendations for the Government's acquisition of range equipment and provide all required supporting documentation for the purchase orders. • Perform system-level design and structure of products including determination of hardware, OS, and other platform specifications and performs a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and execution, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with a bachelor's in a related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; 0 years experience with a Ph.D. or Juris Doctorate in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

• DoD 8570 IAT Level III Certification • Experience with a variety of the following: Windows, UNIX, Linux, and experience installing, configuring, and maintaining a variety of technologies, such as control solutions/applications, intrusion detection systems (IDS), Intrusion Protection Systems (IPS), firewalls, virtual systems, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), traffic generation/capture/analysis, networking, incorporating automated test tool requirements, cloud-based storage systems, etc. • Position requires TS/SCI, willing to comply with SAP requirements
