Outstanding opportunity for a Red Hat System Administrator to work with one of our innovative and growing clients. As a Red Hat Administrator, you will perform regular maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems (RHEL), specifically RHEL7 & RHEL8. You will support the development and deployment of new applications as needed in RedHat Enterprise Linux; integrate the RHEL platform with existing Windows Based applications and management infrastructure; install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. You will manage and maintain large number of Windows/RedHat servers; support the deployment of new systems, maintaining, upgrading, replacing and improving the long-term performance of the systems; setup or implement monitoring processes and/or tools and report on server and application performance; manage the deployment of Operating System patches, drivers and firmware; perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs. A Bachelor’s Degree in a Technology related discipline and/or at least 3-5 years of related experience in Information Technology for critical Enterprise infrastructures is essential. Solid experience developing and implementing large-scale, complex, highly available Infrastructure architecture support critical business applications is a must. 3+ years’ experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, experience with RHEL 7 and 8 and experience with RHEL in a virtualized environment is ideal. Knowledge of patching large inventory of Linux servers required. Must be able to troubleshoot down to a fault. Previous management of Linux Environment required. Experience with Bash, vi, systemd, firewalld, yum, rpm Networking & Installing LVM is essential. Experience with at least three of the following is required: Security/hardening (SCAP); Config management (Puppet, chef, ansible, etc…); Scripting (shell, python, ruby, perl); Knowledge of ITIL concepts (problem, incident, change management); Knowledge of Agile concepts; and, Containerization concepts (OpenShift, Kuberneted, Docker). Strong preference for RHCSA (Certified Sys Admin) or RHCE (Certified Engineer) or equivalent. Current certification preferred, but a previous and expired cert (RHEL 6, 7 or 8) will be considered. You must be a self-starter, problem solver, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. Timeliness and the ability to prioritize work accordingly when it comes to outages and projects is essential. Communication is key; must work well within a team of people and have a personality that meshes well with others.
