Is that you?Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work hours: Full-time, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pmDepartment highlights:

17-bed Surgical Trauma PCU, Nurse: Patient ratio 1:3/4

The Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit provides care to a patient population with trauma related injuries and pre- and post-surgical patients requiring specialized monitoring and interventions. Cares for patients sustaining sudden multi- system injuries; including blunt and/or penetrating trauma injuries, continuous cardiac monitoring, management of chest tubes, wound/skin care, titration of insulin drips for patients with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) diagnosis, respiratory compromised patients that require specialized equipment including continuous respiratory interventions, and tracheostomy care, multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, hematology, GI Bleeds, Renal/Liver Failure, Acid-Base and Electrolyte Imbalances, and cardiac abnormalities.

Here’s What You Need

Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire

BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly

ACLS – within 90 days of hire required

CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 60 days of hire

1-year experience as a registered nurse or completion of an RN residency program required

PCU experience preferred – will consider Tele experience

In addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN will

demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

have basic computer skills using medical management application systems

Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
