You will join the hardware reliability team is looking for a highly motivated individual with background in creation and execution of comprehensive test suites and identification of potential failure modes. Candidate will be assisting in management of the reliability programs, development of new test procedures to quantify the reliability of a design, and failure analysis (FA) resulting from these tests. Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing concise and detailed test plans and test reports
  • Development of new reliability tests procedures and specifications
  • Statistical data analysis to provide risk assessments of a design
  • Researching a technology to determine possible failure modes
  • Prioritizing and completing tasks to meet deadlines
  • Providing design input to improve product reliability when necessary
  • Interacting with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results
Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree and 3+ years of experience in a related field or industry
  • Ability to use fundamental failure analysis methodology to derive a root cause of failure and provide direction on different FA techniques needed
  • Experience performing reliability testing including Mechanical Stress Tests, Shock/Drop/Vibration Testing, Environmental Testing Failure Analysis analytical techniques
(Optical Microscopy, X-Ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS etc)
  • manufacturing data, understanding how that data is formatted, matching serial numbers to get traceability between what was bult when, why was built and what's built into it and how that affects the testing.
  • Knowledge of industry test Standards (JEDEC, ASTM, IEEE)
  • Solid understanding of mechanical assemblies Application of DOE (design of Experiments)
  • Application of FMEA (Failure Modes an Effects Analysis)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to multitask and complete tests and resolve problems in an unattended manner
  • Dynamic and “can do” attitude with a desire to work cross-collaboratively with a great team and product
Preferred Skillsets:
  • Experience managing or data processing with manufacturing data
  • MS or PhD in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field desired
  • Consumer electronics experience
  • Program management with regard to tracking results, initiating FA, keeping track of the FA, making sure the corrective action is identified and implemented once the root cause is recognized, completing FA
  • Statistics background
  • Some level of programing language: Python, MATLAB preferred
