Baylor Scott & Whiter-Waxahachie (Magnet Facility)Shift/Schedule: FT Night 3/12's Hours : 1845-0715 Average 1 weekend shift per pay period. No call.Department: This is an ED holdover position.Fast paced environment with a variety of patient conditions. We are trying to create a semi-set schedule. Will learn all different areas of the hospital if ED is not in holdover. Extensive orientation process.Patient ratio depends on level of care.Preferred Skills: Critical care experience, board certification, ED experience, Telemetry competency, BLS, ACLS.We are changing the role of the express admit department from admission nurses to holdover nurses. We anticipate that our ED hold needs will continue until hospital expansion occurs. This team member will cover those holding patients until beds are available. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.What You'll Do
You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.
You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.
You'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.
What Will Make You Successful In The Role
A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules.
Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.

Grad of an Accredited Program
Specialized field of study should be nursing.
A current and valid nursing license.
Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
