Job Title: Sandblaster Paint SprayerJob DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible for sandblasting and preparing parts for paint, as well as spraying liquid paint on prepped and designated parts while wearing an OSHA-approved respirator. You will develop an understanding of the company, its policies, and practices.Responsibilities
Read and interpret instructions from assembly drawings.
Inspect parts for adherence to specifications.
Perform minor assembly as necessary to apply primer, topcoat paint, and any spray-applied coatings.
Move parts to be painted in and out of the paint booth.
Compute mixture ratios to mix paint materials.
Select and mix coating liquid to produce the required color.
Ensure technical specifications and quality standards are met at all levels.
Complete all required paperwork.
Operate Class B forklifts.
Follow and comply with all safety regulations and practices.
Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Collaborate effectively with team members.
Advocate for lean culture through waste elimination, continuous improvement, and customer-focused quality.
Order paint and paint supplies.
Investigate and test new types of paint and supplies, making recommendations for purchase.
Assist in preparing bids for sub-contract painting work.
Essential Skills
4+ years of painting experience.
Minimum 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment.
Experience in spray painting vehicle components and completed units using industrial coatings such as epoxy primers and polyurethane topcoats.
Ability to identify corrosion and determine appropriate removal methods.
Understanding of the principles of painting equipment and ability to clean/maintain such equipment.
Experience in metal preparation including cleaning, sanding, and bead blasting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in industrial paint, auto body, and paint spray techniques.
