Description: Job Title: Scientist, Systems Engineering (AI/ML/SW) Position: AS20211511-72753 Location: Plano Job Description: As a Scientist, Systems Engineering AI/ML/SW (Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Software), you'll be forming the basis of AI for the AS&T division in this highly cutting edge role. This position is ideal for self-starters who are motivated to create leading edge technology for use in real time weapons systems. Using your multi-disciplinary expertise, theoretical knowledge, and ingenuity, you'll establish industry-leading technical direction that will take the AS&T division and L3Harris to company and program success. About us: The Advanced Systems & Technologies (AS&T) division specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience. Essential Functions: Demonstrate substantive technical expertise in Software and the development of systems and products that implement AI/ML

Develop and deliver AI/ML solutions that meet customer needs

Develop innovative solutions to support program business areas

Lead proposal development with technical solutions/maturation, risk evaluation/mitigation, and costing

Demonstrate communication excellence with internal/external customers to share technical direction and influence new concepts, practices, and approaches

Responsible for establishing the direction for new technical processes, systems, solutions, and products using significant conceptualization, reason, and interpretation considering both near and long-term implications

Travel up to 10%; support field testing

Able to obtain and maintain additional clearances as required

Qualifications:

U.S. citizen

Active DoD clearance with current 6 year update; must be able to obtain additional clearances as required

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science or mathematics

A minimum of 15 years of demonstrated technical expertise in Software with a specialty in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capabilities

A minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience integrating and testing a variety of mission sensors (radar, optical, etc)

Demonstrated technical Program Development leadership including planning and creation of development roadmaps, program execution, delegation of tasks, and verifying engineering rigor

Demonstrated problem solving and decision making/reasoning experience

Demonstrated business pursuit and capture experience with proposal/white paper support including technical and cost volume development

Demonstrated mentorship and career development support

Proficiency with algorithm and simulation model development tools including MATLAB/Simulink, C/C, Python, Keras, Tensorflow, Scikit, etc.

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation) including the ability to translate technical vision, direction, tasking, and status to multi-disciplinary teams and internal/external customers

Preferred Additional Skills:

Advanced degree

Published in industry journals, industry recognition, and/or patent awards

Excellent people skills, with experience leading and collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.

Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success

Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
