ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARYThe surgicaltechnologist III, also known as surgicaltechnologist lead, under the direct supervision of the direction of the Perioperative Services Director, accepts overall responsibility for a designated surgical area of specialty. The lead tech is responsible for assuring all equipment and instruments are operational. Ensures adequacy and organization of equipment, supplies and instruments. Knowledgeable regarding service specific equipment and instruments which are out for repair or need replacement.QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :Education Level:Graduate of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists

Licensure/Certification:Certified SurgicalTechnician (CST) or must qualify for grandfathering under Department of State Health Services - Health and Safety Code Title 4 Subtitle B Chapter 259

BLS

Experience:Recent clinical experience and competency in designated specialties.

Demonstrates high competency in designated specialty area(s).

Ability to serve as a resource to RN's and Surgical Techs in area of specialty.
