Security Investigators are responsible for the PHYSICAL SECURITY of UPS facilities utilizing and deploying CCTV and access control technology. Security Investigators regularly conduct INVESTIGATIONS related to employee concerns, package loss, fraud, and employee dishonesty that impacts service. Security Investigators regularly engage with law enforcement STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS when investigations identify criminal activity. Security Investigators conduct REGULATORY COMPLIANCE audits and promote adherence to transportation rules and regulations. Identify and address physical security issues which include facility compromise, equipment theft, and internal/external threat of assigned area.
Work independently and collaboratively with other investigators leading future-focused projects and initiatives for security and investigative enhancements and process improvements which significantly impact security protocols.
Identify innovative opportunities to streamline processes, enhance investigation methodologies, and leverage technology solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of security protocols.
Monitor and resolve facility alarm issues.
Contract and partner with guard services to provide a professional and efficient employee/vendor access control experience.
Independently conduct complex investigations in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies into unlawful activity and violations of policies and procedures in an efficient, detailed, and professional manner.
Conduct perceptive interviews, both in-person and remotely, with investigation subjects/witnesses, obtain written statements, review CCTV, and analyze investigative data. Properly collect, secure, and document evidence.
Must confidently and professionally articulate investigative findings to UPS Management, Legal Counsel, and/or Local/State/Federal Law Enforcement partners.
Prepare professional, accurate, and thorough investigative reports maintaining well-organized case files.
Analyze investigation result root causes to determine preventive measures.
Prioritize multiple investigative tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive relations with internal and external partners.
Assist in the development of customized SOP's for external customers that protect customer product.
Conduct regulatory compliance audits in regulated operation areas.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree or International Equivalent – Preferred
Preference may be given to applicants with prior Military/Law Enforcement/Investigations experience.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must have time management skills and the ability to prioritize and solve complex problems.
Must be agile with the ability to flex work hours. May include split shifts/nights/weekends/holidays.
Must be willing to be on call 24/7 and monitor a corporate cellphone.
Travel may be required.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
Be of high moral and ethical character.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
