We are looking for a Full-time contractor or employee for a Senior Data Engineer.

MUST HAVE:
  • Korn and/or Bash shell scripting
  • Working in both Linux and/or UNIX environments
  • Working in an Oracle Environment
  • Developing, testing, and managing complex ETL/ELT solutions
  • Developing in an environment supporting data warehouse systems
  • Coding in C or C# Programming Language
  • Working with SQL

NICE TO HAVE:
  • Preferred experience Business Intelligence tools (For example - Business Objects, Informatica PowerCenter)
  • Preferred experience supporting TX Medicaid systems
  • Preferred experience working with ActiveBatch

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Supports multiple Texas Medicaid data warehouse sub-systems, works on multiple assignments concurrently, and completes work in queue by assigned due dates with limited supervision.
  • Continuously demonstrates the ability to manage and self-organize design and development activities, testing, and deployments in an agile product delivery environment.
  • Provides programming estimates, identified potential problems and recommended alternative solutions.
  • Works in close cooperation with project managers and other functional team members to form a team effort in development.
  • Proactively identifies, assesses, and resolves simple to highly complex issues.
  • Uses a range of advanced technical skills (Ex. SQL, data warehouse concepts, ETL & OLAP reporting.)
  • Combines technical skills with knowledge of Texas Medicaid systems and business processes to deliver effective solutions.
  • Proactively provides status on assignments in a clear and concise manner highlighting key activities impacting solution delivery.
  • Identifies problems and escalates to the supervisor’s attention with sufficient lead time to avert crises.
  • Participates in pager/on-call support, deployment of production releases, and introduction of new services into production environment.
  • Considered a SME for multiple Texas Medicaid data warehouse sub-systems.
  • Produces work products of excellent quality that demonstrate use of applicable standards and can be used as an example for less experienced Data Engineers.
  • Helps identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Regularly peer reviews the work of others and frequently mentors others.
  • Moderate client interaction both written and verbal with limited supervision. Responsible for maintaining client relationships.
  • Reports time biweekly into appropriate time tracking mechanism in an accurate & timely manner consistent with project & employer guidelines.
  • Proactively completes all compliance training courses in a timely manner.
