Genuent is becoming INSPYR Solutions is hiring an Sr. ECAD Engineer for our direct client in Austin, TX. This is a contract to hire position. Qualified candidates should send their resume (Word format) to Erica Shackleton at This position works with Electrical Engineer Design team, imports schematics into Allegro CAD board file database and implements layout for high speed, high density board design. The position is responsible for crafting and building the technology that fuels Dell devices.Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop PCB layouts and supporting documentation according to customer and internal requirements such as designing for Electrical Functionality, EMC, Manufacturing, Reliability, and Cost.
- Create, Release, and Archive output files according to internal requirements: Gerber, Drill, Stencil, PnP, Array Drawings, Fabrication Documents, etc.
- Participate in Library Symbol/Footprint creations using IPC standards.
- Lead and/or support PCB(A) DFM/DFA activities in collaboration with Electrical, Mechanical and Manufacturing engineering.
- Lead and/or support development of PCB Layout standards, best practices, and guidelines in accordance with industry standards and internal requirements.
- Verify electrical requirements at component and bench level testing.
- Work assignments primarily involve senior/advanced level work and may mentor other Electrical/ECAD engineers.
- Consult on planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of ECAD and electrical activities for various projects.
- Work assignments primarily involve intermediate through advanced level work, moving toward complete technical competency and mastery of the field.
- Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations.
- Follows safe work procedures; uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; and reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness
- Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years' relevant experience regarding job responsibility listed above in serial development
- Advanced knowledge in PCB design and development for consumer electronics
- Comprehensive knowledge of PCB layout techniques for analogue, digital, power.
- Advanced knowledge in automated PCB(A) assembly and test methods and their impact on PCB design.
- Experience in ECAD/Electrical (Design) and ECAD (Library) - Knowledge of PCB Footprint industry standards and requirements for robust automotive designs.
- Understanding and knowledgeable of ECAD (DFM/DFA) - manufacturing assembly and test capabilities and impact on PCB(A) design
- Experience with Electrical (EMC) design rules and international standards
- Working knowledge in structured engineering approach.
- Strong knowledge of structured problem-solving methods and/or techniques
- Advanced knowledge of ECAD layout techniques for optimized testing, manufacturing and reliability.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office products
- Knowledge of ECAD design tools Cadence Allegro Designer - ORCAD - Familiarity of Electrical Engineering tools including Electrical Circuit Simulators (Orcad, Cadence, PSpice, SiSoft, etc.), Schematic/PCB Design Tool (Orcad), and Electrical Test Equipment (Digital scopes, Logic, Analysis, et)
- Perform work assignments as a highly competent ECAD designer, requiring independent design and release effort in collaboration with other disciplines
- Sets high standards and measures of excellence to ensure quality assurance in every aspect of work
- Identifies and resolves problems and issues timely by gathering and analyzing information skillfully
