job detailsjob summary:We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our clients team. In this role, you will assist in the production of high-quality contract documents, lead the design development process, and ensure that all electrical components for client projects meet industry standards. You will work closely with the Senior Electrical Project Team Leader and other team members to deliver exceptional electrical design solutions.location: HOUSTON, Texasjob type: Permanentsalary: $110,000 - 150,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Bachelorsresponsibilities:
Assist the Senior Electrical Project Team Leader in communicating project scope and budget, assigning responsibilities to team members, and ensuring successful project delivery.
Attend client meetings to understand project requirements and provide expert guidance on electrical design.
Lead the design, creation, and delivery of all electrical AutoCAD and Revit drawings for client projects, including providing the final seal on documents as necessary.
Review and approve specifications, shop drawings, addendums, and other construction documents related to electrical systems.
Conduct field inspections and review field reports for electrical-related items to ensure compliance with project specifications.
Work closely with the Human Resources Manager to develop and supervise electrical team members, providing mentorship and career development opportunities.
Participate in career development training as assigned by your supervisor or Human Resources Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Certified Professional Engineer (P.E.) and licensed in the State of Texas. OR (You must hold an EIT with a minimum of 2 years of experience. )
4+ years of experience in a Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) consulting environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
solid knowledge of building codes and standards.
Demonstrated experience in designing power distribution, lighting, data networks, telephone and intercom systems, fire alarm systems, security, and access control systems for commercial buildings.
Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines.Preferred Skills and Experience:
4+ years of experience designing MEP systems for schools.
2+ years of experience in a project management role.
Additional certifications such as LEED accreditation.
