Our highly visible, central North Dallas client is seeking to hire an experienced Sr. IT Security Engineer to join their team. This is a primarily onsite, direct-hire position with excellent benefits. Candidates must be eligible to acquire security clearance.

Primary Duties1.Monitors all systems to ensure integrity is preserved.2.Identifies, reports and resolves security incidents.3.Documents security architecture and design of the organization.4.Develops security solutions for applications with complicated environments.5.Develops security solutions for applications and systems for compliance with NIST 800 series.6.Maintains up-to-date knowledge of information technology related trends, external threats, current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures as they are published from organizations such as ICS-CERT.7.Provides direction and guidance for technical information collection, planning, analyses and standards development for the administration and maintenance processes and prioritizations for the enterprise infrastructure.8.Partners with members of project team and business clients to ensure the applications are meeting appropriate security guidelines.9.Maintains an awareness of existing and upcoming needs within the assigned scope of responsibility. Performs feasibility studies and works with others in IT to design and develop programs to meet the enterprise security posture.10.Organizes networking and liaison technical sessions with outside organizations, vendors and resources to enhance the IT infrastructure and ensure the infrastructure meets appropriate security requirements and meets changing demands.11.Assists, mentors and provides technical direction, leadership, guidance and support for security engineering and internal IT staff or external technical or vendor support teams to provide the highest levels of design, integration, implementation support and problem-resolution activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SKILLSEducational/Experience Level:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field and five years related technical experience in Information Security.Government experience and/or security clearance preferred.

Required Computer Skills:1.Experience with vulnerability management, log management, analysis, and monitoring, virtual private networks, virtualization, firewalls, web application security concepts and intrusion detection/prevention systems.2.Experience with operating systems (UNIX/Linux, Windows), internet applications (electronic mail, web, DNS/DHCP, TCP/IP), desktop software (Microsoft Office, virus detection programs), encryption (SSL, TLS, IPSEC) and networking hardware and software.3.Understanding of protocols and standards such as TCP/IP, LDAP and 802.1x and network management tools such as SNMP, and NIST.4.Knowledge of local and federal law enforcement practices, procedures, and evidential chain of custody, as related to IT security incidents.5.Strong knowledge of network packet analysis tools (ex, WireShark).

Preferred Computer Skills:1.Professional security certification (i.e., CISSP, ISSP, SSCP, GIAC, etc.).2.Utility scripting and programming (Python, Powershell and Bash) and network operations.Not available for visa transfers or C2C.
