In this role, you will be part of a newly formed team responsible for the system architecture of our clients OS, the embedded operating system for TVs and players across the world. prototype new ideas, figure out best practices, implement advanced concepts, and evangelize across all of engineering. Our goal is to have the smallest and fastest embedded TV operating system, with the best customer reviews, that s scalable for years of future growth. The features and performance improvements you implement will directly impact millions of users every day. This is a great role for an experienced professional who has innovative ideas for complex problems and can translate those ideas into ultra-reliable software.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and evolve the OS system architecture to support new devices and new features, with appropriate modularity and abstractions.
  • Write software that can be easily ported to new or existing platforms.
  • Demonstrate excellence in C development and deliver high-performance, ultra-reliable software.
  • Work both independently and in small groups to deliver new features and functionality on-time.
  • Debug software issues with an eye to optimizing performance and improving product quality.
  • Build tools as needed to support developer productivity and analyze the performance of proposed designs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to dig deep to find solutions to challenging problems affecting our users.

Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience developing Linux-based consumer electronic products.
  • Excellent C programming skills.
  • Significant experience in API design and developing portable code.
  • Proven track record of success with embedded Linux development projects.
  • A passion for building robust, portable, and scalable systems
  • Bachelor s and/or Master s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
