About This Opportunity Responsibilities Manages a team of designers to develop and maintain the complete design and in-store experience of all new stores and remodels for the United States and Canada. Supports the testing of various initiatives and partners internally to support the needs of the organization (including remodels, merchandise platform expansions and merchandise/food testing) Manages external vendor relationships in areas such as Architecture, Signage, and FFE Works to maintain and enhance the internal Store Design brand by building proficient working relationships across all categories and departments including Operations, Maintenance, Construction, Marketing, and Engineering. Provides recommendations and assistance to the Sr. Director of Store Design as well as other internal stakeholders. Manages internal customer expectations and satisfaction throughout the implementation of projects. Ensures internal customers are engaged and informed by providing clear and timely communication and documentation throughout all project phases. Identifies risks and issues with project implementation with appropriate stakeholders and communicates mitigation and course correction action plans as necessary. Ideates and manages the design development process through 3rd party firms, creative designers, and internal stakeholders Qualifications Bachelors/4 Year Degree. 7+ years relevant work experience. 3+ years management experience. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Building Codes, ADA laws, Adobe Suite, MS Word, PPT and Excel Extensive experience working in retail design, superior analytical capability with the ability to understand implications and develop/defend a point of view Strong leadership skills, organized and attention to detail to develop and enhance the output of her/his team Strong written and verbal communications, including the ability to create presentations for senior leadership Time Management: Uses his/her time effectively and efficiently/ Values time/ Concentrates his/her efforts on the more important priorities/ Gets more done in less time than others/ Can attend to a broader range of activities Problem Solving: Uses rigorous logic and method to solve difficult problems with effective solutions/ Probes all fruitful sources for answers/ Can see hidden problems/ Is excellent at honest analysis/ Looks beyond the obvious and doesn’t stop at the first answers Planning: Accurately scopes out length and difficulty of tasks and projects/ Sets objectives and goals/ Breaks down work into the process steps/ Develops schedules and task/people assignments/ Anticipates and adjusts for problems and roadblocks/ Measures performance against goals/ Evaluates results Directing Others: Is good at establishing clear directions/ Sets stretching objectives/ Distributes the workload appropriately/ Lays out work in a well-planned and organized manner/ Maintain two-way dialogue with others on work and results/ Brings out the best in people/ Is a clear communicator #LI-DB1
