Job Description This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided. For all external applicants, we are targeting a start date on or after January 10 th 2022 for this position. Job summary: The First Mile Senior Mobile Developer will be responsible for building innovative mobile applications to delight our customers. They are responsible for the full lifecycle of the software development process including analysis, design, estimation, implementation, testing and support. This team works in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, and agile environment. You'll collaborate closely with UX researchers and designers, product managers, customers, and other First Mile team members to help define the scope of the product. You will be counted on to be an influential voice in decisions related to mobile system architecture, feature development, and product strategy. Role Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate GM behaviors and foster an inclusive, winning culture
- Promote best practices by developing unit tested and organized code
- Supporting and debugging issues with live apps and services
- Recognize cybersecurity risks and remediate
- Collaborate with developers on design and integration with backend services and other applications
- Work with automation engineers to identify and resolve defects and ensure highest quality release
- Partner with UX designers to provide the user an experience that is intuitive and delightful
- Identify bottlenecks and recognize enhancement/optimization opportunities in terms of performance, battery usage, data requirements, etc.
- Champion high quality software by peers and teammates through collaborative and constructive code reviews
- Publish applications to Google Play Store
- Mentor other developers on mobile development
- Document software solutions and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standards
- 6+ years of overall software development experience, with an emphasis on mobile engineering
- 3+ years of combined experience developing native mobile applications for Android using Java or Kotlin
- 1+ years of experience developing web applications using a JavaScript framework (React/Angular)
- Demonstrate knowledge and adherence to SOLID design principles
- Demonstrate experience with consuming a RESTful web service
- Familiarity with standard design patterns such as MVVM/MVC - understanding the pros/cons and when to employ
- Learning new languages, frameworks, and technologies
- Experience with any xplat technology is a plus
- Experience creating or using third-party digital wallet/payment processing services is a plus
- Experience developing progressive web apps is a plus
