- Develop comprehensive infrastructure designs that incorporate strategic target state architecture and standards to maximize performance, capacity, and minimize total cost of ownership.
- Translate complex and sometimes ambiguous business requirements into sound technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and be responsible for developing components of, or the overall systems design.
- Work with application owners and SME’s to influence and shape the strategic direction and target state infrastructure architecture.
- Apply hardware engineering and software design theories and principles in researching, defining, or recommending product hardware and software interfaces.
- Develop or update comprehensive DR strategies by recommending specific tools strategies, and solutions meet internal or regulatory requirements.
- Keep up to date with emerging technologies and recommend business directions based on these technologies.
- Educate the business representatives, engineering teams, build, and support teams on standards, processes, and tools.
- Drive client satisfaction by identifying and developing process improvement and automation initiatives while ensuring compliance of solutions to operations roadmap.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding clients, and assets.
- Support compliance to applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices.
- Experience providing technical leadership in the design of highly complex systems across on-prem, 3rd party hosted, and Public Cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with various UNIX and Windows OS, and the underlying infrastructure they can run on.
- Knowledgeable about HP and Dell x86 platforms.
- In-depth understanding of a variety of Storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, ScaleIO, Object Storage.
- In-depth understanding of Backup, Archival, Web, Middleware, Database, Security, Encryption, Network, and Virtualization platforms.
- Experience with performance modeling, capacity analysis, and capacity planning.
- Experience with container platforms and management; Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with web platforms; IBM WAS, WebLogic, Tomcat, and Apache HTTPD variants.
- Experience with infrastructure requirements for Oracle RAC, SQL Server AlwaysON, MongoDB.
- Understanding of data platforms that provide for structured and unstructured data, fault tolerance and high availability.
- Familiar with integration technologies like AbInitio, Kafka, Apache Ignite, IBM MQ and Rabbit MQ, Solace, Tibco.
- Background in technology and infrastructure provisioning preferred.
- Strong and effective communication skills to guide meetings, provide direction, conduct presentations, while interfacing with business sponsors and executive leadership.
- Ability to enforce the architecture solution by influencing decisions through advice, counsel, or facilitating services.
- Self-starter with ability to take the initiative and master new technology quickly
- Demonstrate composed analytical thought to resolve issues in high pressure situations.
- Clear and concise written and oral communication.
- Must be able to analyze the financial aspects of technology.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of Technical Architect and/or Solutions Engineering and design experience.
- Foundational knowledge of TOGAF, Zachman, ITIL, PMI/PMP, SDLC.
- Technical certifications showing a pattern of continuous professional development.
