job detailsjob summary:We are looking for a Snowflake Architect for a contract opportunity with a client of ours based in Austin, TX.The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications in Snowflake.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, including data warehousing, data modeling, and performance tuning.
Minimum 7 years of experience in data architecture, with a solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
At least 3 years of experience using DBT for data transformation and building data pipelines using SQL and YAML.
Proficient in GitHub to version control transformations.
strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering an environment of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Basic experience in developing dashboards and reports using Power BI with Snowflake data.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels across the organization.
Preferred Competencies:
Knowledge of Fivetran for setting up data ingestion and integration with Snowflake.
Familiarity with scheduling DBT transformations using Airflow and Python scripting.
Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools. Experience consuming data from APIs.
Understanding of data governance principles and practices.
Proficiency in managing and forecasting costs associated with Snowflake and Fivetran usage.
strong understanding of data curation and transformation processes within Snowflake.
Understanding of RBAC controls in Snowflake

Work in an agile team of engineers, data analysts, product manager to modernize and scale the marketing analytics platform.
Design, deploy, test, and manage a modern marketing analytics stack using cloud technologies like Snowflake, DBT, Airflow, Fivetran and Power BI
Develop and implement data transformation strategies to meet the marketing business needs for advanced reporting and analytics.
Lead architecture and tradeoff discussions when implementing data transformations and curations needed to solve business challenges.
Develop data transformation code in technologies like DBT and schedule them using technologies like Fivetran and Airflow to run in Snowflake.
Contribute to best practices like Data governance, Data security and handling in Snowflake and build the right FinOps guardrails for cost management.
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective consumption of data products like Snowflake and Power BI
Build robust data pipelines and alerts for operational excellence.
