As an Software Architect with GMF, you will be responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across applications to ensure solution fits its intended purpose of some new products being launched in 2022 The ideal Software Architect will describe the solution context, analyzes technical trade-offs, determines the primary components and subsystems, identifies the interfaces, defines Nonfunctional Requirements (NFRs) and works with technical and business customers to ensure excellent customer experience.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES

  • Defines architectural vision for the solution under development by applying trade-off analysis methods
  • Analyzes business functional requirements to create technical requirements and system specifications
  • Outlines the primary components and interfaces of the solution and their interactions utilizing Unified Modeling Language (UML)
  • Develops architecture runways by supporting research, prototyping and other activities needed to explore prospective solutions
  • Leads teams of developers and analysts during the design phase of the project and provide mentorship during the execution phase of the project
  • Assists in the development of reference architectures for company-wide adoption
  • Conducts peer reviews of technical documentation to ensure quality and consistency of design standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Conform with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud technology, i.e., Azure, AWS or Google
  • Advanced knowledge writing system and user specifications/documentation
  • Advanced knowledge of design applications
  • Ideal programming language, Java, C#, .NET
  • Advanced knowledge of data types, schema, storage, and transport options
  • Knowledge of information technology systems, infrastructure and operations
  • Knowledge of security methodologies, policies, standards and best practices

Skills

  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels
  • Ability to meet expected delivery dates and the tasks necessary to achieve objectives
  • Advanced computer skills and conversance in information technology issues
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Good in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Strong people skills
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgment pertaining to operating procedures and projects

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years software development of business systems, required
  • 2-3 years software solution architecture, required
  • 2-3 years leading technical teams preferred
