Duration: 12+ Months Contract Location: Westlake TX, Durham NC OR Merrimack, NH OR Smithfield, RI (3 weeks remote and 1 week onsite) Role: Software Asset ManagerPrimary Skills: Asset Management Role Description: The Software Asset Manager must have at least 8+ years of experience. Required Experience and Skills: - Good understanding of software asset management- Experience managing through the software licensing contracts and entitlement process- ServiceNow knowledge- Understanding entitlements and procurement- Experience with managing large vendors (IBM, oracle, informatica)- Managing key relationships with peer roles across the enterprise, including Business Application Owners, Service Catalogue Manager, Software Product Owners, and Procurement representatives.- Accountable to ensure new entitlement purchases, true-ups, and maintenance renewals, including maintenance of contract pricing and negotiated terms.- Collaborate to ensure licensing contracts are optimized based on usage and predicted consumption.- Understand impact of maintenance / assurance, support contracts and requirements.- Leading analysis, design, and requirements for IT SAM process improvements and feature enhancements- Manage lifecycle stages of software assets from initial request - purchasing, deployment, maintenance - through removal from service. - Ensuring quality of software asset records within the Asset Management Repository, including Software Discovery Models, Software Product Models and Software Entitlements.- Discover and establish a full inventory of software deployed. - Identify and correlate hardware and devices of the deployed software.- Identify number of licenses, licensing scheme/type, and utilization of each discovered software. - Identify publishers for whom we do not have full license spend and see high-level where we are non-compliance.- Determine number of licensed applications, and identify vendor, count, cost per license, and current license holders. - Categorize all license usage: assigned in-use, assigned unused, unassigned, expired.- Develop and analyze reconciliation reports to determine required actions to address non-compliant software installations.- Driving reconciliation by comparing entitlements with discovered software installations to determine effective license positions for each in-scope publisher.- Managed through a vendor audit, does not have to lead the audit, but experience working through audits with large companies- Effective in identifying opportunities for improvement, prioritizing options, and recommendations- Experience leading day-to-day operational activities for a Software Asset Management (SAM) program- Experience managing IT assets throughout their full lifecycle- Knowledge of software licensing models, including for large vendors (IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, etc.)- Experience with asset discovery tools and managing associated data; to analyze and identify potential gaps- Significant experience with SAM related platforms, tools, and integrations - including ServiceNow SAM and Ariba- Experience as a member of vendor audit activities, including leading software publisher audits to closure- Undergraduate degree, or equivalent experienceEducation: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or EquivalentExperience: Minimum 8+ years of experienceRelocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses Travel: NoLocal Preferred: YesNote: Must be able to work on a W2 basis (No C2C)Recruiter Name: Sandeep PalRecruiter Phone: Equal Employment Opportunity Minimum Education Required: BachelorYears of Experience Required: More than 5 years
