Retail Systems - Senior Software Development Engineer (Package)

Overview This role is responsible for solution design, configuration, implementation, security, compliance, and monitoring of the Point-of-Sale (POS) applications. This person will work together with Business Partners, Technology Team leaders and POS vendors as part of an expansive project team focused on enhancing an enterprise POS System. The ideal candidate must live and breathe POS, collaboration and cooperation as this role will work closely with other Technology Teams and business partners on behalf of our team to build win-win relationships.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Design, Develop, Support and Debug tools and scripts supporting the POS systems in the field.
  • Manage security reviews and processes as liaison to Security teams.
  • Provide technical, analytical, functional, and business domain expertise on POS Solutions.
  • Troubleshoot problems using Splunk and database queries.
  • Manage and maintain documentation central to operational effectiveness.
  • Design, Create and Deploy data validation and monitoring against Test and Production POS Systems.

Required Skills
  • 5+ years in a Software Development Lifecycle
  • Strong SQL and XML skills. Splunk and PowerShell experience a plus.
  • Strong Development experience in C# and .NET.

Desired Skills
  • Working experience with Angular / Node.js / JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks like NUnit, Pester, or Spectator.
  • Experience working in AWS: DynamoDB, SSM Parameter Store and S3
  • API design and testing

  • Strong knowledge of system and software delivery best practices and methodologies.
  • Experience in working with retail engineering teams as well as retail support principles and practices.
  • Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion, understanding and appreciation of retail operations and customer service.

  • Self-motivated and possess an elevated level of personal accountability.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time with an expected 0-5%.

Education & Experience:
  • BA/BS degree and 4-6 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
