This is a Contract position, and the client is looking for someone to start immediately. Duration: 6+ Months Contract Location: San Antonio, TX (Remote) Role: Software Development V Primary Skills: COBOL Role Description: The Software Development V must have at least 5+ years of experience. For this role, you must be an experienced engineer to help maintain a legacy Fortran-Cobol system running in multiple Red Hat Linux production environments. The role requires proficiency in Informix DB, Red Hat Linux, Linux Shell, Post Shell, Perl, ACE, FORMS, and Informix-4GL technologies. You must be someone who already has the necessary clearance and expertise so you can support the team immediately. For this position, you must have two years of working experience performing installs, upgrades, configuration, and maintenance of these systems. Must have an active Security+ certification and already hold an active investigation (Tier 5) in order to be adjudicated to the IT-I level Position of Trust. Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. Good communication and collaboration skills and the ability to ramp up quickly are desired. Primary Responsibilities: Installation, administration, and maintenance of Fortran/Cobol system and Informix database Implementing best practices Identifying and recommending system functional specifications Creation and maintenance of user accounts Assistance with system functions needed for operations Application and database maintenance Running data imports and automation scripts in Production Generation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Baseline management for code, databases, scripts, and documentation Maintaining and restoring backups of application and database Triage support for operational issues Analysis of scan findings Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) remediation Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) Audits, diagrams, and ad hoc cybersecurity requests Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree with 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 years of prior relevant experience Holds an active investigation (Tier 5) in order to be adjudicated to the IT-I level Position of Trust Active Security+ certification Working knowledge of Fortran, Cobol, and MS ACCESS technologies Proficiency with Informix, Red Hat Linux, Linux Shell, Post Shell, Perl, ACE, FORMS, and Informix-4GL technologies Willing to obtain additional technology certifications as necessary Willing to work nights and weekends Ability to ramp up quickly on a new system Good communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with the following technologies is a plus: Previous knowledge of the Federal Wage System (FWS) and associated processes Previous experience supporting the Wage and Salary Division (WSD) Familiarity with cloud-based technologies like OCI, AWS, etc. Familiarity with Oracle SQL or similar database languages Familiarity Agile scrum development processes and tools Familiarity with full-stack development processes and tools Familiarity with DevSecOps processes and tools Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Information Technology or another related field or Equivalent Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience Relocation: This position will not cover relocation expenses Travel: No Local Preferred: Yes Note: Must be able to work on a W2 basis Recruiter Name: Ankit Jasoriya Recruiter Phone: 412-200-1197 (Ext: 2285) Equal Employment Opportunity Minimum Education Required: BachelorYears of Experience Required: More than 5 yearsExpected Travel Time: None
