Job Title: Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer will assist in ensuring our systems are available, secure, efficient, and scalable. The Systems Engineer will be key to maintaining IT systems, developing automated mechanisms for day-to-day tasks, identifying and remediating issues found within the infrastructure, and maintaining relevant skills and knowledge in the information technology space.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Participate in installation and configuration tasks; perform software upgrades and maintenance.
  • Implement highly available systems and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other IT Director and Software Engineering team in the development, optimization, and presentation of operational systems.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations of infrastructure hardware and cloud services.
  • Perform continuous evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems.
  • Perform data center functions like server racking, cabling, and routine maintenance on occasion.
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware and software upgrades, and resource optimization as needed.
  • Provides 24x7 hardware and software support for infrastructure components as part of a rotating on call process.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • A. Computer Science, Data Science or IT completed or in progress.
