This position is for a highly motivated individual that is looking to help the Command and Data Handling (C&DH) Branch of the Avionic Systems Division with the work in the systems that will be part of the Gateway Program. Specifically, we are looking to add to our team working the Habitation and Logistics (HALO) module and the integration with the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE). You will work collaboratively with team members to ensure the highest quality of the finished product. This role requires a candidate with a positive attitude and good interpersonal collaboration skills.Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for systems engineering and technical integration activities over the entire life cycle, including design, development, test, verification, launch and on-orbit operations
  • Serves as C&DH Team representative for HALO , Co-Manifested Vehicle (HALO integrated with PPE) and other Gateway Modules (as required) C&DH activities, working with the C&DH team lead and Prime contractor
  • Assists with broad range of interdisciplinary design, development, test and verification activities to ensure that System performance meets all project requirements
  • Provides the solution of problems that arise during spacecraft developmental and operational phases. Identifies anomalies and serves as a technical expert providing engineering recommendations, as required, for resolution of any associated problems or issues
  • Assists System design, development, test, and evaluation activities of assigned NASA personnel, prime contractors, subcontractors, and international partners, as required
  • Support Gated Reviews (PDR, CDR, etc), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs) etc as assigned by the C&DH Team Lead
  • Travels for Program reviews, TIMs, and to contractor facilities
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in applicable engineering discipline
  • Knowledge and/or experience regarding the concepts and principles of Systems Engineering and Integration preferably with Command and Data Handling experience
  • Experience with Networks/Networking and/or other spacecraft avionics communication architectures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate and coordinate with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency leading, managing, and/or working in teams with a diverse skillset.
Desired:
  • Broad understanding across Systems Engineering Disciplines specifically Systems Engineering and Integration, Requirements Development, Test Operations, Assembly and Integration, and Test and Verification.
  • Experience with Time-Triggered Ethernet and/or other spacecraft avionics communication architectures.
