Splunk Technical Lead. This is a Long-Term contract opportunity based out of Irvine, CA or San Antonio, TX. The Splunk project lead would need to have at least 8 years of IT experience. The project lead will help us deliver programs that listen to our customers’ feedback, and drive insights back into the engineering team. This role requires technical knowledge, Splunk enterprise experience, strong project management skills, analytical fluency, the ability to work with engineering teams, and an instinct for and appreciation of the importance of customer experience. We are looking for someone who knows how to combine technical troubleshooting and Program Management.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of direct experience in Splunk as a technical lead or system analyst or engineer.
  • 8+ years of IT experience working in large teams.
  • Experience in working with a large distributed Splunk environment consisting of Search heads, Indexers, Cluster masters, Deployers, Deployment Servers, and Heavy/Universal forwarders.
  • Must be a motivated and customer focused SIEM engineer who can work as a subject matter expert.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology procedures and best practices.
  • Thorough understanding of project management principles, tools, and methodology and proficiency in their implementation.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Define project goals, and deliverables in support of business initiatives in areas of Splunk engineering infrastructure
  • Ensure the quality of work in project deliverables
  • Create, manage, and communicate JIRA work items
  • Coordinate the work of cross-functional teams and client management
  • Proactively track, manage, report, and communicate project status promptly to senior leadership
  • Identify, assess, mitigate, monitor, and report on issues and risks that could impact the ability of the team to meet its goals and commitments
  • Act as a subject matter expert on project deliverables, schedules, risks, and challenges
  • Lead meetings to discuss project status and progress
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process and quality improvements
