Description
Provide support to user community. High level of functional and technical knowledge of applications supported as well as functional business knowledge of these applications. Assist with the management and execution of projects with support from Manager, Applications and/or Business Analysts.ResponsibilitiesSupportIndependently work with user department personnel to identify and resolve problemsCoordinate problem resolution with application software vendor Business KnowledgeIn-depth understanding of the business functions incumbent supports (Production Accounting, Field Operations)Analysis and DevelopmentDesign and develop custom solutions following SDLC/PM methodologies to analyze, design, develop, test and deploy solutionsWork with Manager, Applications to prepare project charters and plans including cost and time estimates necessary to obtain approval for projectsAnalyze existing applications to propose enhancements to application software vendorsPrepare and assist user personnel to execute test plansCommunicationsUtilize a service desk management system to track support incidents accurately documenting troubleshooting steps and resolutionsPrepare and deliver concise, accurate Project Status ReportsPrepare and deliver thorough Staff Meeting reports depicting summary of overall activities and highlights of assigned projectsPrepare and deliver discussions on selected topics to corporate wide audiences at COTechnical Conference and/or Vendor User Conferences TechnicalSolid knowledge of MS SQLMicrosoft Access development techniques including the use of VBA (Visual Basic For Applications) coding techniques.Exhibit in depth knowledge of best practices for creating and developing MS SQL database objects with guidance from DBAOtherMentoring Jr. Staff membersStay abreast of application offerings impacting the software/department that the incumbent supportsAttend vendor presentations and user conferences to identify items of benefit to COGCProject ManagementPrepare, manage and execute project plans for assigned projectsManage Vendor cost and time for assigned projectsQualifications7+ years professional experience required5+ years of Upstream Oil & Gas application knowledge of Production Accounting and/or Field Operations requiredAnalytic thinking that can quickly grasp complex data and process relationships.Strong desire for teamwork and learning.Strong knowledge of coding methods for Access Databases and Word and Excel Macros.Solid knowledge of Microsoft SQL concepts such as views, stored procedures, SSIS packages and SSRS.Ability to independently prioritize and handle multiple job assignments of medium scope.Solid communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with managers and corporate and region personnel.Basic understanding and able to execute project management concepts.Ability to manage and lead a project using external resources including scope, effort and cost management.
