This role is mostly REMOTE, but you will come into the office 2x a month, must live with 100 miles of Plano, TX

Sr. Accountant Analyst (Treasury) will assist with creating new processes for SB treasury products. They will support the monthly journal entry processing for investments and products. This also includes supporting daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and reporting requirements for the Treasury Accounting group. High level duties include preparing and recording journal entries, preparing and/or reviewing account reconciliations, and preparing various reporting requirements. This may also include reviewing journal entries, analyses and disclosures prepared by other team members or contingent staff as assigned.

Accounting and Reporting - 60% Participating in month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards to ensure the accuracy of reported information. Participate in quarterly and annual iFEM, SEC, governmental or statutory reporting processes, including developing, updating financial reporting and disclosures for use in the SEC or parent reporting processes. Completing annual SOX compliance testing Assist with departmental projects and ad hoc requests. Assisting with sub-ledger or systems upgrades, new product implementation, spreadsheet controls or automation, internal controls design or implementation. Identifying potential opportunities for improvement in the accounting, tax, and finance areas Gaining a thorough understanding of business Gaining an in-depth understanding of Accounting policies, systems and processes

Research, Process Improvement - 20% Research and identify how upcoming changes to FASB and SEC guidance could potentially impact debt and derivative accounting and reporting requirements. Develop processes and procedures and related documentation (including flowcharts) to support ongoing efforts to reduce operating costs and improve overall internal controls. Developing improved reporting and analytics to support managerial decision making

Projects - 20% Participate in key accounting or treasury initiatives as the treasury accounting subject matter expert. Assist in creating new processes for products as the treasury accounting subject matter expert.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Must be College Graduate (BA/BS) with a CPA certificate or working towards being CPA Certified Needs strong INVESTMENT ACCOUNTING experience vs. finance or accounting 5+ years as an Sr. Accountant Analyst, preparing/recording journal entries, preparing/reviewing account reconciliations and financial reporting Advanced Excel experience and any experience with Hyperion is a huge plus Experience creating new processes for investments and Treasury products. Must have experience with General Ledger accounting Must have excellent written and oral communication skills Capability to work flexible hours, which may include day, evening and weekend hours.
