Key Responsibilities

Our Agile Coaches are catalysts for continuous improvement and foster a shift to improve the culture, behaviors, and outcomes in the context of the development of products and solutions.

Coaching and Training
  • Coaches/ Facilitates in lean thinking and development of Minimal Viable Products, Coaches Agile Delivery Leads, Product Management and other Program level roles in their functions within SVB's Agile methodology
  • Active coaching of Product Pods and Product Leadership, facilitation and coaching of quarterly planning events
  • Promote lean thinking principles such as reduced cycle time, limiting work in progress, understanding flow and identification of waste/inefficiencies to Program Leadership
  • Coach multiple teams simultaneously by directly observing pod activities, guiding through Agile discovery and learning, provide role-based training and help identify and resolve impediments.
Agile Maturity
  • Develop Program specific coaching plans to mature pods and product leadership's skills and mindset.
  • Establish and support consistent reporting practices across all Pods
Training Material
  • Contribute to Agile Center for Excellence of defining end to end processes that support Agile Principles.
  • Contribute and/or create instructional content for onboarding new Pod's or maturing existing Pods.
Observations
  • Keep weekly journal of Impediments, Risks, Actions, and Decisions for any active engagement
  • Raise recurring/widely observed issues and bottlenecks to Program Leadership

  • Good at building relationships and navigating through organizations
  • Able to develop and foster collaborative teamwork and facilitate team dynamics
  • Passionate about understanding people / teams in various stages of Agile environment
  • Tirelessly advocates for the best possible solution
  • Believes in a non-hierarchical culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years agile experience, including 2+ years as an agile practitioner and 3+ years as an agile coach
  • Past developer experience is highly desired (preferably in agile setup)
  • Specific experience with Jira, Confluence, Kanban and similar tools and methodologies
  • Technical experience working with various technology stacks and coaching development teams
  • Experience with coding and integration
  • Experience with transformation
Certifications
  • Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) or Certified Scrum Coach (CSC) is nice to have
  • Agile Coach Certification (ICP-ACC or other)
Travel
  • 5%-10%
