About This Opportunity Responsibilities The Data Platforms and Information Architecture Sr Director will be accountable for the business data and analytics strategy, architecting the required data and analytics platforms, and leading our transformation and strategy around “Data as a Product”. The role needs to build solid relationships with our business partners, deliver value to our customers and constituents by turning our data into insights. This leader will need to recruit and develop a high-performance technical team including roles for Enterprise Data Management, Analytics and Data Governance. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Establishes trust and credibility as a key, contributing leader of the data management team and its analytics business partners. Works in conjunction with executive leadership to develop priorities, funding, architecture, and integration of data supporting technologies and capabilities in support of the goals and objectives Develop and lead initiatives for maximizing the value of enterprise information assets, and of the analytics used to render insights for decision making, automated decisions and augmentation of human performance. Lead data-driven insight initiatives that help support the exploitation of strategic and tactical business opportunities. Enhance and lead the company’s data culture by demonstrating leadership and oversight of company-wide data management, data analytics, and data governance to include but not limited to presiding over the 7-11 data governance committees. Responsible to build strategic and technical capabilities to enable an end-to-end data governance, data quality, and master data management strategies, including solutions for: GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations Co-Design data governance, data quality, and master data management processes and workflows supported by technology and innovation to operationalize data governance, data quality and overall risk mitigation Collaborate with Data Governance, IT teams, and business to integrate data governance and master data management workflow automations in existing and future cloud-based data, AI and ML platforms Lead the design of the data architecture, data sharing, and analytics infrastructure to include but not limited to overseeing the integration and staging of data, and the development and maintenance of the data lakes, data warehouse and data marts, for use by employees and stakeholders throughout the organization. Promote self-service analytics by creating ready access to enterprise data, while also balancing the free flow of data with the safeguards that are necessary to protect sensitive data and adhere to federal and state regulations. Advance the company's data literacy and data maturity by assisting and training employees with understanding the data that they are working with and how to treat it as a strategic asset. Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise in designing and recommending appropriate analytical approaches and methodology to addressing key issues within the company. Develop an operational plan for the overall data function, including goals, and objectives, as a guide to activities. This operational plan will be used to guide the life cycle of key data assets. Maintain familiarity with the legal; privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties; ethics; and operational security issues surrounding the use of data. Promote data governance and quality literacy across the enterprise and at the design process. Qualifications Experience building high performing teams and experience with implementing new programs in a fast paced, complex environment. Experience with designing, delivering, or supporting solutions in the data management space (support to data management, data privacy, data quality, master data management, support to compliance risk mitigation, AI/ML models governance) Experience with data cataloguing, data governance, data quality, data privacy and master data management (Informatica, Atacama, Collibra, Global Ids, Big Id, etc) Experience with at least one or more public clouds in a retail environment Excellent documentation skills to define workflows, procedures, technical concepts, etc. Strong business process modeling and data modeling skills Strong data analysis skills and ability to analyze simple, medium, and complex sources of data Demonstratable experience in identifying and implementing innovative solutions that allow for improvements in automation, decision making, data analysis, etc. Familiarity with database design, integration, architecture, and performance practices Exposure/Experience in agile development and testing processes. Demonstrable experience in effective verbal and written communications, and interaction with internal and external customers at all levels Proven data governance, data science, or data engineering experience Proven hands-on experience as a Technical Leader on data quality and governance Creativity / Innovation Generating new and innovative approaches to problems. Staying current with technology and innovation trends. Persuasion Ability to convince others to pursue a course of action. Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
