Responsibilities:

Strategic employee relations consultation to help align management actions with business objectives, associate engagement, and legal compliance goals.

Provide mentoring to new and/or junior Employee Relations team members (including, but not limited to general coaching, substantive training, reviewing and editing/ recommending edits to work product).

Continuously assess, anticipate and address business needs and, as needed, (i) develop SOPs, and (ii) partner with Director, Workforce Compliance and/or HR Business Partners to develop policies.

Lead and/or participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required;SPHR or PHR certificationpreferred

Experience inHuman Resources 5-8 years of Employee Relations counseling and investigations

Paramount sensitivity to and ability to maintain confidentiality

Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills

Exceptional interpersonal skills

Advanced level knowledge of federal and state employment laws

The Senior Specialist ER will be dedicated to specifically assigned business teams which involve heightened complexity and/or require advanced employee relations support, although this role may be called on to provide employee relations counseling or conduct workplace investigations on a more limited ad hoc basis for other teams or individual associates.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic associate relations consultation to help align management actions with business objectives, associate engagement, and legal compliance goals. Develop and maintain solid understanding of business goals and initiatives, company and division policies, and workforce compliance obligations. Provide strategic advice to managers on workforce matters including but not limited to associate development, retention, performance and conduct related disciplinary action, terminations, and organizational/divisional initiatives. Provide investigative support for concerns in which are identified as complex, systemic or high risk. Guide managers in assessing need for and developing associate-related communications including corrective action documentation. Strategize with managers in improving work relationships, resolving associate concerns, enhancing associate engagement and retention, and fostering compliance with company/division policy and applicable laws. On occasion, evaluate and address associate grievances, identifying and recommending any appropriate action items to include without limitation, enhancements or changes in policies or practices as needed. Evaluate value of dispute resolution to resolve workplace conflicts and mediate such disputes between associates and managers as needed. Analyze and provide guidance to management in connection with RIF exercises; provide recommendations to help mitigate risk without jeopardizing business interests; partner with business in implementation. Partner with management and HR Business Partners to foster successful acquisition integration and assimilation.Associate Relations Mentoring Provide mentoring to new and/or junior Associate Relations team members (including, but not limited to general coaching, substantive training, reviewing and editing/ recommending edits to work product). Assigning matters to other Associate Relations team members.Administrative Responsibilities Prepare and finalize employment action and investigation documentation Input, update and close out all matters in case management system Provide audit support to case management system as needed.Procedure and Program Management Continuously assess, anticipate and address business needs and, as needed, (i) develop SOPs, and (ii) partner with team members and other HR personnel to develop procedures. Partner with team leadership in identifying and developing strategic solutions to address opportunities to streamline and improve Associate Relations and management procedures.Project Management Lead and/or participate in special projects as assignedSupervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect ReportsThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities for direct reportsIndirect ReportsMay delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reportsTravel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum QualificationsEducation Level:(Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experiencePHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferredField of Study/Area of Experience:Human Resources5-8 years of experience in Associate Relations counseling and investigationsSkills, Knowledge and Abilities
