Our collaboration is focused on increasing access to care through a growing network of leading specialists and revolutionizing healthcare to save lives and improve the health of the communities we serve.ResponsibilitiesJob Summary / PurposeResponsible for complex laboratory procedures. must also act as a team leader by assisting and guiding Histotechnicians in decision-making, and by taking on other areas of responsibility. Acts as supervisor of the section in the absence of the supervisor and/or assistant supervisor.Essential Key Job Responsibilities

Histologically prepare anatomical specimens and perform procedures in accordance with the Section Standard Operating Procedure Manual Accurately and completely, and do so within an appropriate timeframe, in an organized and efficient manner

Perform quality control, preventive maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instruments, with the added responsibility of ensuring that these tasks are performed and documented by all personnel assigned to such tasks, and taking appropriate action as needed. A further responsibility is the preparation of QC reports for supervisory and pathologist review, and ensuring that records are complete and accurate, to meet any and all regulatory agency requirements

Participate in any and all continuing education activities as they become available, and share knowledge gained with superiors and co-workers, for the purpose of improvement of Section instrumentation and procedures

Assist in purchasing duties, and supply inventory

Follow established safety procedures, and be familiar with fire and disaster response

Evaluate and recommend new instrumentation and/or testing procedures for their specific area of expertise

Act as “group leader” to other staff by assisting and directing them in work duties as needed, and ensuring smooth workflow

Identifies and resolves issues raised by staff and pathologists and Ensures that all quality control standards are followed.

Participates in opportunities for continuing education and/or teaching, training according to the Section Performance Standards to enhance technical skills

Adheres to all regulatory requirements
