Tittle- Sr Instructional Designer Location: Westlake, TX (Hybrid) aria-hidden="true" Duration: 6+ months Phone and skype L&D (Learning and Development) Consulting Sr. Instructional Designer Project Summary and Objectives: The Client Retail Experience and Special Relationship Sales Operations Learning and aria-hidden="true" Development team needs two (2) consulting Sr.-level Instructional Designers to help with creating aria-hidden="true" learning materials and assets for Branch Managers, Financial Consultants, and other retail Advisory aria-hidden="true" levels. Various factors contribute to this need:

  • Client has purchased a similar company in scope and services, and is actively working to complete an integration by late 2023, or early 2024
  • L&D (Learning and Development) plans are underway to equip Financial Advisors to better serve clients for an improved retail client experience, and better client retention
  • Multiple initiatives for multiple work streams need to be executed upon Assumptions
  • While the Retail Experience and Special Relationship Sales Operations Learning and Development team is not directly involved with integration, it is foreseeable that needs may arise as a result of the integration.
  • The consulting Senior Instructional Designers will be focused on creating learning assets for various parts of the business, including but not limited to, Wealth Management University, FC Academy, and Modern Wealth Management
  • Client will need two (2) Instructional Designers to work 40-hours a week, for an expected duration of six (6) months with possible extension considerations
Background Check: Since Client is in an industry that is heavily regulated by the SEC and other governing bodies, candidates must be able to pass an extensive background check. Locations: The client is Headquartered in Westlake, TX. It is preferred that candidates be located within the DFW metroplex, with a plan to come into the office Monday thru Wednesday, with the alternative to work from home Thursday thru Friday. If candidate searches are not successful in a reasonable time, Denver, CO has a Client office as an alternative. Travel: It is not anticipated at this time that travel will be required for the contracted employee, particularly if aria-hidden="true" the contracted employee is located in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Should travel become a requirement, arrangements will be coordinated through Client. Job Description: The Sr.-level Instructional Designer is part of the Sales Operations Learning and Development team. This is a newly formed team reporting up through Sales Operations in our Retail Experience and Specialized Relationship groups professionals with the power to transform minds, skill sets, and careers. The Sr. Instructional Designer will report to the Senior Instructional Design Manager, Sales Operations Sales Learning and Development, and works to inspire transformation in others by designing remarkable learning experiences. This critical role will help us deliver and evolve training to ALL our sales channels. You will partner with the business, sales leadership, and internal partners to help craft the design of training and partners to deliver a modern approach to learning that inspires and empowers our people to realize their full potential. You'll have the ability to stretch your instructional design skills by working with our internal training and coaching teams to design effective adult learning solutions (eLearning, facilitator-led, vILTs, meeting-in-a-box, and other creative formats including video teach-backs), by applying the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Sr. Instructional Designer Essential Functions (what you are good at):
  • Work with the Sr. Instructional Design Manager and business partners and propose learning solutions to meet learners' requirements
  • Analyzing performance needs by working with process owners to identify behaviors and to design solutions that drive successful outcomes
  • Outstanding verbal communication skills with the ability to lead effective working sessions across multiple teams and subject matter owners
  • Excellent written communication skills, effectively communicating complex information in an effective manner
  • Delivering with excellence, a high attention to detail and quality
  • Influencing and gaining alignment on roadmaps across teams and internal partners/groups
  • Evaluating strategic, tactical and risk management impacts of alternative trade-off decisions in the context of our training and proposing sound, well-supported, fact-based recommendations aria-hidden="true" to leadership
  • Creating content outlines, Learning Design Documents (LDD), Storyboards, and final outputs such as eLearning products and other learning assets
  • Follow standards/guidelines created for projects
  • Review deliverables to ensure high quality and adherence to signed-off designs
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with internal team members and clients
  • Establish and maintain professional and productive working relationships with peers and clients
  • Apply accessibility standards on deliverables
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills by adhering to all schedules
  • Develop assessment items to test learning objectives
Sr. Instructional Designer Requirements / Qualifications: (what you have):
  • 6+ years in creating blended interactive learning experiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of ID theories and practices.
  • Advanced proficiency level in content development tools such as Articulate Storyline and Captivate. Additional Articulate tools a plus.
  • Familiar with eLearning project lifecycles
  • Demonstrate effective course development and evaluation skills. Should be able to independently develop informational, process, and technical courses.
  • An eye for design and a passion for learning
  • A desire to think beyond traditional training and innovate in the learning experience and design space
  • Technically savvy and able to adapt and engage with changing technologies
  • Experience working in a Learning Management System (LMS)
  • A strong focus on the client and learner
  • The ability to establish trust and build sustainable relationships quickly and effectively
  • Ability to work independently and partner and collaborate with peers
  • Strengths in problem solving, influencing others, and executing a customer-centric manner
  • Ability to write/edit training content to enhance learning comprehension
  • Strong aptitude in graphic design, video, audio, animation, and graphic creation a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Behavior, Education, Communications, Writing, Design, Multi-media, and/or equivalent work experience
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, WebEx, MS Teams, Photoshop, Snagit
  • Proficiency in designing in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and similar platforms a plus
