Sr. OTN Network Engineer (hybrid)

Location: New Jersey/Texas/Boston/DC/ PA/VA/CA The Sr. Network Engineer will review layer 1 Network designs and help translate them to the development teams that will provide the code for the design features via API, gPRC and Netconf Yang. This SME will be provide guidance from the design to the development stage and have it ready for deployment.

Must haves:
  • OTN Network Design
  • Ciena (6500, CPL, 5430, 5410),

    Cisco ONS15454 DWDM,

    Infinera (DNT-X, XT)
  • understanding of internal and external Network Protocols (RIP, RGP, LDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc)
  • Understanding of orchestrations using APIs, gPRC and/or Netconf Yang Model

Experience with:
  • Experience /Understanding/ knowledge of Network Designs within Layer 1/OTN/Wave – review and provide Network expertise advise, as needed
  • Design reviews – Ability to communicate, manage and troubleshooting while working with cross functional teams.
  • Signaling & Segment Routing - Review it, understand it, create documents
  • Experience /Detailed understanding of Optical Networks, OTN, DWDM, 40G/100G/200G/400G coherent optical transmission technologies, Ethernet, Wave, Switching, Routing, Data Networks, DCN, Synchronization of optical networks
  • Working knowledge with various interface SDH/OTN/DWDM products like

    Ciena (6500,CPL, 5430, 5410),

    Cisco ONS15454 DWDM,

    Infinera (DNT-X, XT),

    Juniper MX/PTX TCX1000 series routers
  • Implement and/or knowledge of various OAM&P platforms such as Ciena (OMEA/One Control), Cisco (CTC/CPO/EPNM).
  • Basic understanding of internal and external Network Protocols (RIP, RGP, LDP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, etc)
  • Understanding of orchestrations using APIs, gPRC and/or Netconf Yang Model
  • In-Depth knowledge of

    communication system theory and wireless systems
  • Good knowledge of physical layer waveform design,channel coding and PHY/MAC procedures
  • experience with Long Haul
  • Familiarity with

    L2/L3 user plane and control plane protocol stacks and ability to perform cross-layer optimizations
  • Experience in object-oriented programming and wireless system implementation
  • Experience in the

    telecommunications industry(network provider, MNO/MSO, device OEM, etc.)
