General DescriptionOur client is looking for a Sr. Project Manager to assist with the delivery of a build to suit headquarters; move from existing headquarters and leased office space to the new location; transition of all member facing services; transition of all IT infrastructure; completion of the program milestones according to previously established scope, schedule, and budget limits.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs complex project management work.
  • Communicates with project stakeholders, senior management, and other relevant parties.
  • Develops project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections.
  • Prepare and present executive level project tracking, reporting, and stakeholder management.
  • Identifies potential project risks, gaps, and issues, and develops strategies to mitigate them and escalates as required.
  • Create and maintain project artifacts, such as project schedule, status reports, RAID Log, Communication Plan, Stakeholder Register, and project budget expenditure reports.
  • Coordinates project activities with multiple stakeholders, including multiple divisions, agencies, and IT groups.
  • Act as the counterpart to the owner’s representative program manager to ensure customer satisfaction and serve as the escalation point of contact for any deliverables related activities.
  • Monitors project performance to address changes in scope and/or timing.
  • Collaborate with technical and functional teams to develop documents need in support of project goals.
  • Assists with developing content for presentations as needed.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills when communicating with peers and different levels of organization including executive staff.

Experience:
  • Experience assisting an enterprise organization with a large, complex facility relocation move
  • Project management in relevant areas of project assignment, such as construction and governmental agency relocation.
  • Project management of complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft toolset: Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint.

Registration, Certification, or Licensure:
  • PMP

Preferred Qualifications
  • Work experience with state government, federal, or complex private sector organization
  • Work experience managing cross-agency, enterprise department initiatives

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of:
  • Knowledge of project management theories and practices applicable to projects that are highly complex in scope; systems and procedures used to evaluate a third-party vendor’s performance; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the administration of the project undertaken.

Skill in:
  • Skill in project management monitoring, addressing changes in scope and budget, and the use of a computer and applicable software.
  • Must be able to work independently and lead the coordination with external consultants and vendors.
  • Must possess problem solving skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Must be able to work around projects, deadlines, and operational needs with readiness to put in extra efforts when necessary.
  • Effective communication skills, including with vendors, senior leadership, and internal resources.
  • Skilled in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.
  • Skilled in collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Technical Specification and other documents need in support of the solution

Ability to:
  • Ability to manage project activities; to establish project goals and objectives; to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions; to analyze complex information and develop plans to address identified issues; to demonstrate negotiation and facilitation skills.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions Work is performed in a standard office environment and requires:
  • Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies.
  • Marginal or corrected visual and auditory requirements.
  • Constant use of personal computers, copiers, printers, and telephones.
  • The ability to move about the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.

Education Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field relevant to the assignment is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
