Description If you're looking to further your career in accounting and enjoy solving complex problems, Robert Half has a terrific long-term contract / temporary to hire Staff Accountant position available for you to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Irving, Texas region.Responsibilities
Be a part of various department-wide initiatives
Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Excise tax experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Sales Tax
Avalara experience
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
Excel Formulas experience preferred
Experience with ERP systems
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
